I have a Woocommerce-based webshop and I translated my entire website with TranslatePress. My question is how order emails are sent out? Will Woocommerce automatically recognize the given language and send out order related emails to clients in their language? (There is an official translation of Woocommerce in the secondary language too, so normally, I wouldn’t need to translate the emails.) If not, how can I set this up?
    Thanks!

    Hi there!

Since the translation feature is coming from the Translatepress plugin, it’s best to ask the developers behind this plugin directly. WooCommerce will not auto-recognize the language, that will need to come from the Translatepress plugin!

    Hi,

I got this answer from TranslatePress:

Our plugin doesn’t yet detects these strings because they are not visible in the front-end, only processed. The good new is that most languages already have these translated properly.

Alternatively, you can also use LocoTranslate in order to translate these strings.

So, I contacted Loco Translate, but I got this answer:

Loco Translate does not and cannot control what is done with translations. It is a file editor.

All I can tell you is that my plugin cannot force any particular behaviour.

So, it seems that any of these plugins can’t resolve my issue. What would be your advise? Woocommerce is 100% translated into the languages I need, I just would need to ‘activate’ them for my second language. How to do that?

    Hi again!

I don’t know of a specific plugin that would do this for you, but you can use AutomateWoo with a bit of custom code. Through that, you can set up a workflow that lets you send out a custom email (say, the new order email translated in the language of your choice), based on the language the customer has selected.

We don’t offer customisation services through our support team, so I would recommend getting in touch with a developer: https://woocommerce.com/customizations
