According to The Event Calendar Help> Listing events with your site’s blog posts “Under Events –> Settings –> General, you can set your events to show alongside your posts in the main blog loop on your site. By default, the events are ordered by the event date.”

I have turned on the option to “Include events in main blog loop”. I am using theme Twenty Sixteen.

What I am experiencing is the Events show up furthest out first, then my regular blog posts show up below all Events. How to sort correctly? In theory what I post today should show up on top of next weeks event.
