Order messed up after replicating in WMPL

I definitely see the issue with the order being off I use the menu order just like core would to order the attachments and use post parent like core does to add the attachment. It could be something I’m forgetting but it seems weird the order would change so drastically since I don’t believe I change the menu order. I am guessing you are using the WPML media transfer plugin too?

I will take a look on my end and see if I can replicate it with stock WordPress and WPML I’ve notice some weird issues when WPML duplicates posts it could be user error on my end though.

I do have two questions the first one is how are you outputting the slide is it a WordPress plugin or is it something more custom. If it’s custom with a custom query could you supply that query. The second question could you try disabling WPBA before you duplicate a post and then reactive it after to see what happens.

–> what is slide ? you mean the gallery ? Im not aware i do a “custom query”. I add the atachments to a Zyra-gallery post and publish, period.

another hint: seems like is related to WPML. but: without translating a gallery-post, there is a case where strange behavior happens: when i attach more than 20 pics or so at once: the icon “saving attachments” never ends, the attachments are not shown, then at some point I just click on page-update, the attachments are shown but the order is different to the expected. and more over, trying to re-order doesn’t work anymore,the final strip shows random. my workaround for big galleries is just to upload in batches of <20 pics.

I use WPBA to reference WP Better Attachments plugin. So when using the Zyra gallery are you using WPBA to order the attachments that gallery displays or to add images to the gallery? I am just trying to get a better sense on where WPBA falls into the equations.

I have a feeling it could be any number of things going on but it would be hard to narrow down the best bet would be to disable WPBA and try duplicating a post so we can make sure it is actually WPBA causing the order issue. I do all of the sorting for the attachments via AJAX so it should not happen unless you actually drag and drop it to reorder it. If the issue is resolved once you remove WPBA from the mix I will look more into it.

yes sorry, of course i was using BA to reorder, thats the point !
If I add like “add media” is very clumsy and looks terrible:
– the images are “embebdedd” in the page, and not displayed like a gallery look:

– moreover, to reorder the pics when they are embedded is a pain: cut and paste across the edit surface.

Probably the order is maintained if not using BA, but thats not the solution, because then im not using to the max capabilities the gallery templates of this Theme
