    1. Is there a way to allow customers to name orders? Perhaps, adding a custom field to the order page?
    2. Can I set an expiry date on orders for each customer? I.e., two years from the day of purchase?

  • Hello,

    1. Is there a way to allow customers to name orders? Perhaps, adding a custom field to the order page?

You can add custom fields to the orders using a premium extension, for example, Admin Custom Order Fields.

For a free alternative that uses custom code, you can check this Stackoverflow discussion here.

Can I set an expiry date on orders for each customer? I.e., two years from the day of purchase?

You can navigate to WooCommerce > settings > accounts & privacy > go to the Personal data retention section, and tell WooCommerce how long you would like to keep the data for the orders.

I hope this provides clarity ??

Thank you very much. So if I put 24 months it will be 24 months after each user orders – expiry will expire per user purchase date?

    Hi @sherry22

    You are most welcome!

So if I put 24 months it will be 24 months after each user orders – expiry will expire per user purchase date?

Yes. This section allows you decide how long to keep order data on your store. You should specify how long your site will retain data in your privacy policy; consider what makes sense for local laws such as the EU GDPR.

You can learn more about Personal data retention here.

    Hope this helps!
