• Greetings all.
Just installed the blog editor software on my own domain. So far I like it.

On the Home page, when a new item is posted, is there anyway to change the order so that newer posts go at the bottom rather than the top?

I want to have the home page show only a paragraph or two of the topic then link to the actual page where the rest of the story is (pardon the pun). How is that done? Along with having the category display and link properly.

A nice feature I’d like to see is on the category listings.
When clicked on, a submenu pops up to show the other pages listed in that category. Is that available now?

Apparenty, you are not aware that wordpress blog can be installed on a domain you own. Which I was able to do through my host’s applications installing features.
So I can now do my own personal blogging on my domain with no assistance from wordpress.com I do not need to have a subdomain from wordpress.com.

    Does that answer your question?

    Um… excuse me?

I see where the changing of order of the titles can be done with a plugin. So I’ll try one or two out and see what happens.

An easy way would be adding <!--more--> in your posts after a few paragraphs, this way only the part before <!--more--> will be displayed on the home page.

Alternatively, you can achieve the same results by editing the index.php of your theme, but that requires some WP knowledge (replacing the_content with the_excerpt and things like that).

Regarding showing older posts at the top, once again you could edit the index.php in your theme and add <?php query_posts($query_string . '&orderby=date&order=ASC'); ?> right before the line which has have_posts().
