Order past events

I would like to order past events from newest first to oldest. I found an answer from 2018 posted here in the forum:

For this, you have to change query parameter order ‘ASC’ to ‘DESC’. You can make this change in the file named as class-simple-event-planner-shortcode-event-listing line # 85 placed in the following directory:
simple-event-planner/includes/shortcode

But changes in plugin core files will be lost after the SEP update, so the best way to use hook sep_output_events_args in activated theme’s functions.php file for modification in query parameters.
