A category of our posts (workshops) are ordered by a custom field (begin date) using the Advanced Custom Fields plugin (as we want these posts to be sorted by the date of the workshop, not the date we created the post). We display this category of posts on our home page. Can the “Posts in Page” shortcode reflect an orderby custom field? I have tried the following, but it doesn’t work.

    [ic_add_posts category=’workshops’ showposts=’3′ meta_key=’begin_date’ orderby=’meta_value’ order=’ASC’]

    Any ideas? Thanks

    Howdy @justmigrating,

That’s a darn good question. I don’t believe the current free version supports orderby with ACF fields at this time, but we’re working on an upgrade that might. ??

I’m double-checking and will get back to you soon.

    Howdy @justmigrating,

I’ve confirmed that this feature is not currently available. Perhaps there some way to work around it?

You can view our plugin page on our site to signup for updates so you’ll know when we come out with a pro version or further updates.

Thanks and have a great week!

Thanks Eric for looking. I custom-coded the ability in the theme’s page.php file for now, but I prefer to rely on plugins for client websites so they don’t have to go back to me for assistance down the road.
