Order posts by date for category template

  • Hi,
    The website is https://www.slye.ca and the theme is Suffusion.

    I am fairly new to WordPress, and I am not used to editing .php files, rather using the template options.

    How can I make posts appearing in Category pages be ordered by date of posting? Currently they are ordered alphabetically – we want the list of posts for categories to show our most recent posts.

  • This is nothing to do with the Suffusion theme. Category pages are usually in date order so your edits must have altered the display order.

    I am unsure how to change it back to date order, any advice? Where can I edit the display order for category pages?

    What kind of changes did you make to the theme? Which files did you edit?

    I didn’t change any .php files.

    In terms of the theme, I can’t remember if I made any changes that allowed for the display order to be changed from chronological to alphabetical.

    But it definitely changed at some point, because it used to be chronological. We just need to figure out how to change it back.
