    Something has changed recently with how Woocommerce creates reports. Up until last week, I was able to create an order report that included a column with the clients name. Now, the reports only show “new” or “returning” in the column. Help!

  • Hi @verdisfjm. Can you send a screenshot of the screen you’re talking about? Thanks! If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, here are a few options:

    * https://snipboard.io
    * https://skitch.com/
    * https://getcloudapp.com/
    * https://awesomescreenshot.com/
    There is also a walkthrough guide here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

    Hi. Thanks for the tips. I think I did it correctly. Below you’ll find a recent report with no customer names and a report from 2 weeks ago that includes the customer names. Nothing has been changed on my site.

    Recent order report with no customer names

    Previous order report with customer names

    Hello @verdisfjm!

    What you observed has been reported as a bug here:

    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-admin/issues/5181

    So it appears that there are 2 different CSVs that might be generated. One is the instant download, when the file is small enough and has the names but no column for new or returning customers.

    The other one is emailed when the file is too large to be generated immediately. This file is missing the customer names but has new or returning in the columns.

    I hope that cleared things up.

    Cheers!

    Thanks. For some reason I can’t do instant downloads at all anymore- even with simple reports. It defaults to emailing the report every time. The customers name was included when instant downloads worked.

    so how do you get a csv file with the names?

    It seems that that Plugin Support is now pimping a purchased add-on product to WooCommerce as a solution to getting customer names with orders. I found this on another thread:

    You appear to be correct in that the order CSV from the Analytics section only shows the type of customer.
    To export full order details I suggest that you consider using:
    https://woocommerce.com/products/ordercustomer-csv-export/
    or similar.
    A search for WooCommerce export orders details digs up some interesting alternatives as well.

    I hope that helps you to figure it out.
    Feel free to get back to us if you have further questions.
