order status showing as completed and not as processing

Hi team,
My website was working fine, but I have been experiencing payment issues for the past few days.
Whenever someone tries to place an order at my site, they can see the checkout page payment methods are also visible however after selecting the payment method, the payment page does not pop up and an order is created.The problem is not with the gateway I have checked the settings and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the gateways and tried using a different gateway which I have, as it is happening with every gateway. Even for cash-on-delivery orders, when the user selects that the user is not getting any order ID at the checkout page, they are only seeing “thank you for shopping.” However, this was not the case before.
There’s one more problem in the admin problem which I think is happening because of this payment issue, whenever I receive an order it is directly going to the completed status due to which I am not getting any notifications and the order is not synced with my shipping app.
Previously whenever I used to receive an order it shows as processing.Can you help me out in resolving these two issues?
