• Hi!

We updated your plugin to 2.1.6 on the 21st of march.

I noticed that below woocommerce – orders, all orders that used to say “being processed” now says “waiting for payment”. Any idea why is this? A bit worried about how this will affect things. Especially in our business system Visma which is connected via Wooommerce and Svea.

I asked Woocommerce support and they said: “It’s usually up to the payment plugin to decide the order’s status after a successful payment.”

    Thanks.

    Hi,

When an order is ongoing the status is “Waiting for payment” until Svea sends back that the order is payed and the order, then the order will change status to “Processing”. Is also means that you as a store manager will see orders that are ongoing, something that’s new in 2.0 of the plugin.

Could this be an explanation to the “Waiting for payment”-orders that you’re noticing or does something else happens in your case?

    Best regards

    Hello!

We have an integration between our business system Visma and Woocommerce/Svea. This integration is set to pick up orders in Woocommerce that have the status “processing”. With this new plugin version it appears you have removed this status??

I can confirm that all of the orders with the status “waiting for payment” has not gone into Visma. This is a big issue.

Is it possible that the people who choose “invoice” as payment option are the ones getting the status “waiting for payment” instead of “processing”?

Is that what you have changed with this update?

    Hi,

An order with the status “waiting for payment” is an order that isn’t completed yet (not payed for) so the fact that it isn’t being sent to Visma makes sense from a technical point of view.
All orders, regarding of actual payment method should be set to “processing” when Svea confirms the order via a push callback.

Are the orders marked as “Open” in Svea Payment Admin? If that’s the case I’d suggest making sure your website isn’t experiencing fatal errors in the push callback. You could take a look under “WooCommerce -> Status -> Logs -> fatal_errors[date]”.

Not sure what you mean by “svea payment admin”?

I looked below woocommerce – status – logs, there was a fatal error in the last days but this was regarding our GDPR plugin Complianz, I don’t think this is the kind of fatal error you’re referring to.

I made a purchase myself on our website with payment method invoice. The order received the status “processing”, as per usual so that’s good. But I still don’t understand where the orders with “waiting for payment” is coming from, there is no information in these orders, no name, no adress, nothing.

    Hi,

Those errors are not likely to interfere even if they can’t be ruled out depending on what the error message is.

The orders that are “waiting for payment” could simply be started transactions that never was completed.

These order should later be set to “canceled” since they are abandoned. Have you noticed any canceled orders aswell?

    Right.

Yes, I suppose so but we’ve never seen this status “waiting for payment” on orders before (as far as I am aware). I was shocked after the theme and plugin updates on tuesday to see so many orders with that status.. It goes back to the 7th of march, and I have about 85 orders with this status, from not having any orders with this status earlier.

Surely something with your plugin must have been updated in order for this to have happened?

We have sometimes had orders registered that with the status “cancelled” and I can still see a few of these.

    Hi,

If you’ve recently updated to 2.0 you might see older orders as well that was created during 1.0 which was needed when a visitor first viewed the checkout.

Now in 2.0 this extra step isn’t needed so orders which was previously hidden can be visible. If an order is more than 24 hours old you can safely remove it since a customer never will return to that order.

Hm ok this is a bit confusing but I think I get what you mean.

In the future, we will not get any more orders with this status “waiting for payment”? An order will never be triggered/created just because someone goes to /svea-checkout?

However, orders that were interrupted previously, we are now able to see, and they have been given the status “waiting for payment”. We can see these “orders” because you made them visible with the latest update.

I do not want to see these “non-orders”, at all as it is simply confusing. Are you sure it is completely safe for me to remove these? There is no way some of them could be real orders?

    Thread Starter ibl92

    (@isabella92)

But shouldn’t I be able to see these “non orders” (waiting for payment) for all years now that they are visible? Or did these orders only exist for maybe 30 days before the were automatically removed?

    Hi,

Yes and no. You will still be seeing orders with “Waiting for payment”, but this will be an order where the visitor really has started a payment but Svea is waiting for card details, BankID, Trustly, Swish, Vipps, etc to process the payment. If the order gets left behind or the cart changes between payments (lets say a customer clicks on “card” but then realises that they missed something, goes back to the shop and adds another item, goes back to the checkout and selects “card” once more) you might see an abandoned order with “waiting for payment”. This order will later be changed to “cancelled”. This is the default WooCommerce behaviour.

You are correct that the previous version cleared old orders so that the database wouldn’t be too big.

Okay.. thank you for explaining. I am still a bit unsure as to what the purpose of seeing these “orders” are. If I don’t remove these orders, will they automatically disappear at some point, if that is the case, when do they disappear?

Will the “waiting for payment”-orders be included in Woocommerce reporting? Because that might not be so good.
