Orderby in output?

Currently there’s no config option for that, but I’ll add your request to the list!

Hi again, I wanted to let you know that two things have been added in version 3.4 that should help you out. The first is a new parameter when setting up Instances, if you set append to false, new items will be prepended to the list (instead of appended) in the WP admin.

Further, you can now filter your Attachments when retrieving them in your them using a new filter as of version 3.4.
