Ordering of Advanced Options in Editor
-
I hit the Feedback link from the WP icon at the extreme top left of my /wp-admin page. I apologize if this isn’t the right place for this.
When editing pages and posts in my site, I make a lot of use of css classes and HTML anchors. However there is a strange behavior that really messes up my muscle memory and trips me up and causes mistakes nearly every time. Here it is:
If you select some text you typed and convert it from a P to a H3, on the right side of your browser will be an “advanced” section you can open up to assign a CSS class and HTML Anchor name to that H3 element. But if you hadn’t just converted it from a P to a H3, the ordering of those two options is reversed.
I am pretty sure I know the root cause of this, but I won’t get into the weeds or guessing about the specifics of the code. I just want to share my feedback that it would be helpful to me if it was in a consistent order. No matter what way that is (alphabetical, arbitrary, whatever), as long as it’s the same every time it would make the product just a bit better for me as a user.
