    Hi,

Something very strange happens in my store. None of the Administrators have created orders manually, but from time to time, 2 orders created by the Administrator appear in a row. The orders appear without data and without products. They appear empty. However, they are created with a custom status by a plugin that sends the orders to the shipping plugin.

Could our shipping plugin be failing? Can I somehow see how the orders have been created?

    Thanks!

    Hi @imillenium,

    Thanks for reaching out.

If I understand you correctly, you’re experiencing an unusual issue with orders getting created in your store.

If I may ask, when you click on the orders, are there any details on the order notes? Where possible, please share a screenshot of what you see in your order notes. The order notes typically contain information about the actions taken on an order, including how and when it was created.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi @ckadenge,

Thank you for your response. That’s right, in my store two orders are created with origin “Web Administrator”.

    Hey, @imillenium!

Thanks for the screenshot and information.

From what I understand, the orders always have two notes that are added from other plugins, correct?

One of those is most likely creating the orders.

Have you reached out to their support to see if this is an issue they are aware of and how they can help you solve it?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi @carolm29

I recently deactivated the ratings plugin that creates a status. As you can see in the image I attached, now there is only the note that Woocommerce creates when it changes status.

Thank you for reaching back, with further details on this @imillenium .

The issue where orders keep getting created, without any customer data or products in them, remains, as I understand.

How possible is that the store is connected to some external software (drop-shipping, CRM, inventory management, for example)? If so, could you go ahead with temporarily disabling that, and see if the issue persists, or otherwise?

Also, I’m curious, did you have a chance to reach out to the support channel of the shipping plugin about this?

Another thing I’d check out would be the payment gateways available at the store.

I hope this is helpful! We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Hi @anastas10s

    Thank you for your response.

Our store is not connected to any CRM. We have contacted the developers of the shipping plugin and they tell us that the problem isn’t coming from their plugin. I think the problem isn’t coming from the payment gateways. The payment gateway plugins have updates and we have not updated them. We have been working with the same version for a long time and no error has occurred.

I am going crazy. It’s all very disconcerting.

    Hi again @imillenium,

Sorry to hear that the issue persists.

Just to confirm, were you able to temporarily disable all your plugins and check if the issue persists or otherwise?

The payment gateway plugins have updates and we have not updated them. We have been working with the same version for a long time and no error has occurred.

While it’s great to hear that you’ve been operating without any errors, it’s still highly recommended to keep your payment gateway plugins updated. Most updates often include important security patches, bug fixes, and new features that can improve the overall performance and security of your online store.

Updating your plugins regularly also ensures compatibility with the latest version of WooCommerce and WordPress, reducing the risk of potential conflicts or issues in the future.

I recommend making a backup and updating all your plugins to the recent versions.

    Hi @ckadenge

I can’t disable the plugins, because my store is in production and I currently have a promotion. I will update the plugins and I will see if the problem persists.

Thank you very much for the reply.

    Hello @imillenium,

I completely understand the importance of minimizing disruptions to your store, especially during a promotion.

Please feel free to update the plugins at your earliest convenience. If the issue persists, you can create a clone of your site and troubleshoot on the cloned version. This way, your live site remains unaffected. More info:?https://woocommerce.com/posts/what-is-staging-site-wordpress-how-to-set-one-up/

    Hi @rajeshml @ckadenge @anastas10s @carolm29

I have seen in the “Scheduled Actions” tab some actions of the Mailchimp plugin, can the problem come from there? Or do you think they are usual actions of the Mailchimp plugin?

    Thanks!!!

    Hi there @imillenium

I have seen in the “Scheduled Actions” tab some actions of the Mailchimp plugin, can the problem come from there? Or do you think they are usual actions of the Mailchimp plugin?

This inquiry is best to be addressed at the support channel of the Mailchimp plugin.

Meanwhile, I’d recommend going ahead with creating a separate staging site (hosting providers typically offer this functionality), and leave only WooCommerce active there (updated to its latest version available), and a default theme, like TT3, in order to see if empty orders will continue appearing.

I hope this helps! We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Hi @anastas10s

I have already cloned my store and everything is going well. However, my store in production has already had 2 new orders created and recently I am discovering that some orders are changing status.

I am very puzzled. I do not know where the problem can come from.

    Hi @imillenium,

If I understand you correctly, your live store has new orders created the same way (without an actual admin creating them). While you mentioned to have an active staging site with only WooCommerce as the active plugin and a default theme, were you able to notice any new orders there as well?

    Thread Starter imillenium

    (@imillenium)

    Hi @ckadenge

All correct. No orders are created on my staging site.

    Hi @imillenium

It does sound a bit tricky and confusing, doesn’t it? However, to make sure we’re both on the same track here, Could you please verify if your store has any active API credentials under WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API?

Meanwhile, I would suggest using the coming soon mode and conduct a a conflict test. If the issue stops, you can then reactivate your theme and plugins one by one until you find the one causing the problem.

Let us know how that goes for you. Looking forward to hearing from you!
