I did some more searching and found I was using PHP 5.2, and upgraded to a newer version. Just needing to do some more testing now and see if that helps the situation.

Nope, that wasn’t it, it still just sits as pending. This sucks!

    Hey Fishing,

Mike gave a solution in that github convo!
    https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/issues/2833

Read it over, my solution is fixed. You have to add a tiny snippet of code in. (Near the end).

As Mike mentioned, he said it’s only for sandbox paypal, live should be working.. (I have not tested it out yet though).

    Thanks again Mike Jolley,
    Riley!

    Hello Bros,

I am just wondering when woo-commerce order’s status changed as completed, it automatically happens after the payment or Admin have to do manually via dashboard.

    Thanks & regards

It’s supposed to be automatically, but it’s not happening for me.

    Hi fishingreviewstv,

Did you figure this out, I’m having the same problem myself! Have even bought a pluggin for it but it’s still not working?

I have IPN set up in PayPal, download and virtual ticked on simple products, under general the right parts clicked but the products are still “pending”, until I manually tick complete!!

Arghhh it’s driving me mad, any help would be great!! Thanks

    Joey,

No still not working automatically, really sucks.

I got mine working.. I attempted changing my PayPal address, then everything started working.. for what ever reason!

PayPal allows you to have a couple different emails to your paypal.. so maybe trying adding a new one, and making that your primary and see how it goes?

I have the same problem, but my hosting provider doesn’t have CURL and SOAP. Do you think it is the source of the error?

I just found on this thread (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/orders-not-going-to-completed) that if the product is digital you need to have the “virtual” box checked next to the “download” box to get it to autocomplete. I am trying this out and will see if it works.

I can confirm the above fix worked for me. Products are automatically moving to “completed”

    Its not digital though.

    Maciboci,

My provider has both of those and it should be working correctly, still does not.

Not happy as it’s annoying to go and approve all the sales. Customers aren’t getting confirmations right away and it’s also a pain in the butt.

    Hello everybody!
Is there any update about auto change of order status to COMPLETED if a PayPal payment is ok?

I’ve checked my log file for a real payment I checked… this is the result:

    01-23-2014 @ 11:08:40 – Received valid response from PayPal
    01-23-2014 @ 11:08:40 – Found order #112
    01-23-2014 @ 11:08:40 – Payment status: completed
    01-23-2014 @ 11:08:42 – Payment complete.

BUT ORDER IS STILL NOT COMPLETED!
I don’t think problem is from PayPal… but from WooCommerce!

    Thanks

OK… few minutes after posting my SOS here, I’ve found solution for my problems!

I’ve got products on my WooCommerce store flagged as “virtual”, but not as “downloadable”.

WooCommerce autoswitches order status to COMPLETED only if:
    – product is flagged as “virtual” AND “downloadable”
    – PayPal payment is correct

I mean that, if you set a product only virtual OR only downloadable, WooCommerce will not change product’s status in “completed”.

If you want to go over this stupid limitation, and be able to autoswitch order status to “completed” (also for only “virtual” products), I suggest you to download this plugin:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-autocomplete-order/

    Cheers!
