I maintain a store that sells mostly sheet music and CDs for physical products. Sheet Music and CDs can, in the US, be shipped by very inexpensive Media Mail. Rate, for example: $4.00 + $0.50 per CD.

We also sell a few non-media products: some small musical instruments and the usual T-shirt and coffee-mug swag. Those get shipped by more expensive non-media parcel post. Rate for example, $8.00 + $1.00 per mug.

We can put media producs into a non-media-mail package, but if we put non-media products into a media mail package, the postal service doesn’t like it at all.

If we get an order for a CD and a mug, we end up charging for shipping as if there were two packages to ship. $4.00 + $0.50 + $8.00 + $1.00 = $13.50.

Is there a way to persuade WooCommerce to simply charge the more expensive rate for an order like that: $8.00 + $1.00 + $0.50 = $9.50.

(Many of our customers are on limited incomes; we really want to save them money wherever possible without having to issue them refunds for overpaid shipping.)

    Hi @olliejones,

This may be possible depending on the shipping method you have configured. Are you able to share a screenshot of your shipping settings so that we can help you further with this?

Thanks for getting back to me, Saravanan.

I have sorted out this situation. `There’s a setting on the shipping class that now says

“Charge Shipping for the most expensive shipping class.”

The alternative choice is “Charge Shipping for each shipping class individually.”`

I believe it was set incorrectly.
