• Hi all,

I have been playing with WordPress fiendishly for the last week or so and really love it. I’d like some feedback on how to organize a few things from other WP users more experienced than I. And yes, I’m reading around & looking at other sites too as best as I can…

My noob-thought is that I should have a category for both restaurant and general food type. However, I’d like a static page with each restaurant’s mini-profile and have that profile be updated by someone from their staff (for daily specials, monthly promotions, etc).

Does that category scheme sound like the right way to go?

Any suggestions for how to assign a user to update a portion of a static restaurant page? I am looking at inline posts or permission plugins as a possible solution…

    Thanks in advance!

    wp noob

  • Hmm, there are many ways of doing this and WP has it’s taxonomy limits.

I would suggest creating each resto as a post in a specific food category, authored by the resto staff. That way, the resto staff can log in as authors to update their own post. Reviews could be through controlled, rated comments below that post.

There are plugins like wp-sentry and other multi-author plugins that prevent authors from editing other people’s stuff…

I obviously didn’t give this much thought but there are also services like https://praizedmedia.com/
