Organize Products

I try to answer from my experience so far:

Question 1:
-The catalogue sorts in alphabetical order according to the category if you import the categories into the catalogue.

-If you want to order by product name, you have to import the products in that particular order and add them to the catalogue. To do this, use an .xlsx-sheet with a column named “Catalogue ID” and add you catalogue ID, see here:

I already posted a feature request some time ago about implementing a switchable-option in the admin that you can define if just adding the categories to the catalogue if it should be sorted according to category name (default) or product name.

Question 2:
This is not possible with categories, you have to use tags for this.

I add a column to my sheet and added the catalogue ID. I sorted the whole sheet alphabetic.
I then imported the sheet. The catalogue is complete, but the products are not sorted alphabetic??

But doing it this way, it means when I want to add productslager to the catalogue, they always are at the bottom unless I manually move them.

How difficult can this be?
Why not a basic option in the product catalogue how you want to sort the products, also within the categories.

Please help. If you want I can sent you the sheet, so you can see what the input is.

Hmm but then looking into the catalogue backend view, they should appear in the order that was in the spreadsheet, right?

I agree with having an option in the backend would be really nice.
