Does this plug-in overwrite the original images in the WordPress media library? I’m nervous about bulk applying the action and not having a way to undo.

Also – I tried to compress one image at the large size I set to (1400×1400), the program says:

Compressed 1 out of 1 sizes
    Total size: 152 kB
    Compressed size: 114 kB

When I go and visit my site and open this image in a new window and pull it to my desktop it’s still the original at 750KB. Where do these resized compressed images go?

    Hi,

The plugin overwrites the original images if you enable the compression for them. In the Media Settings page you can select which dimensions you want to compress, if you don’t check the original it will leave those in tact.

As for your second question. Are you sure you are showing this dimension on the page you’re referring to? It is also possible that your webbrowser caches certain images, perhaps try it out in a private window to see if that solves it.
