• Hello. I have a number of images in my Library which I need to be un-watermark. Using the Restore Backup feature does not seem to be working. So I tried manually replacing the photos in the media library with the ew-backup ones, and force regenerating thumbnails. Afterward, I am able to confirm that the (full size) images in the media library folder are updated, but they still do not show up un-watermarked on the website, even after regenerating thumbnails. I have cleared out all the cache on the Nexcess server. What troubleshooting steps would you advise I move to next? Thanks.

    Just a few minutes ago, after all the above, I did an another Restore Backup on this photo, and I notice that it seems to be correct in the slider, but still watermarked when opened in the lightbox. So maybe it could have to do with caching? Or thumbnails? I am confident that regenerating thumbnails and clearing the cache is not working to adddress the lightbox photos, or even the photos as they are displayed in the Library.

    Yeah, still the scaled version of the image is saved with the watermark so it seems the thumbnail regeneration didn’t affect the scaled version?

    Can you try using a different thumbnail regeneration plugin on that particular image and see it that works?

    After looking at this more closely, it seems to be the case that the images that won’t un-watermark, don’t actually have corresponding backups in the ew-backups folder. This would explain why the are not replaced after restoring backups via plugin, manually, regen thumbs etc.

    Do you know what type of circumstance would cause watermarked photos to not have backups?

    If that is the case, I guess I will have to re-upload new photos. Do you think there is any other recourse?

    Unfortunately, I have no idea why the backup wasn’t performed, but we’ll add a fallback to the plugin which will check if the backup was done prior to watermarking the image.

    Also, I’m sorry to admit, but reuploading the photo is the only way of removing the watermark
