    Hi team,

Just thought I would post this to get more info. I have started to realise that those optimise and clean wordpress plugins regard Next Gen Gallery metadata as “Orphaned Term Relationship”.

I did some testing, when I have images with tags/metadata/keywords on the image, it removes those tags because it was “Orphaned Term Relationship”. Are metadata etc really orphaned or can the tags be related to the gallery ID?

  • Hi @lilap

Could you be so kind as to let us know which plugin are you currently using to clean your database?

I really don’t think it’s ok for you to delete those tags.
But We would like to reproduce the problem on a testing site so we can inform or chat with our developers about it.

    Hi Gabby,

The one that deleted meta data or keywords was Sweep. Note that it did not delete all the image keywords but removed 70% of the galleries keywords from images. No idea why.

    Thanks

    Hi @lilap!

Sorry about the late response, I’ll try to let our developers know about this.
Let’s see if it is something we need to report as a bug.
    Thank you so much.
    We’ll keep you posted.

    Hi @lilap!

    Apologies for the late reply.
After some digging, our developer informed us that what Sweep is doing is wrong; it’s wiping out our (correctly stored) image tags.

So please, if you are able, share that information with the Sweep support team.
We are happy to provide some guidance in our code if necessary, that, of course, needs a bug report, but please, check with them first and keep us posted.
