    Hey
I think some of you might want to do the same. In EU which means tax to pay for deliveries to EU-countries. But not for any other country.

I would like to “Enable automated taxes” BUT use “Prices including taxes” in all instances and still get OSS reports for countries set up with a tax rate
BUT tax calculated after accepting order as i really con’t care if the tax is 20% or 21% or 0%. Just calculate it when order is done so i can pay the appropriate amount to the IRS for orders within the EU. I realize customer won’t see tax amount. Doesn’t matter. Can live with “If you are within the EU, VAT is included according to country of delivery.”

This means i lose money on some deliveries and win on others (compared to adding tax to advertised price). Some exports are 0% tax. e.g from within EU to the US. Realize my net profit will differ. Doesn’t matter.

I’ll leave taxation (as i do with customs) to recipients outside EU.

    Am i clear? Ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

not really sure if I got your use-case right. What is your base country? In case your base country is within the EU you could use the option within the OSS settings to make sure the gross price is kept fixed no matter the tax rate.

    Cheers

    Hey
Yes i am in the EU (Sweden). But it is impossible to both have “Enabled automated taxes” AND showing prices “Including tax”. At least in my installation.
If i change to automated taxes it automatically switches to enter and show prices excluding taxes. Had that worked i would be happy. But no.

Furthermore…which i think you know: without automated taxes i won’t get any in my OSS reports.

    Does that clarify?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

the enable automated taxes option is an option of the WooCommerce Shipping & Tax plugin I guess? As far as I know that doesn’t work right in the EU (at least that’s what I’ve experienced). I would suggest turning off the automated taxes setting as that will allow you to adjust your tax settings accordingly. You may import the OSS tax rates based on your current OSS status from within WooCommerce > Status > Tools > tax rate import

    Cheers

    Hey
Thanks. I tried that and set the tax rates but OSS reported NO transactions after going through an order. I simply created a report for this year after completing an order but no taxes in the report. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Depends on whether the order was already completed. What is the current order status?

Now i’ve disabled auto tax, enabled prices included.
    Order: Completed.
    I can see “is_vat_exempt=no”.

    OSS report says “1 January 2022 – 31 December 2022: € 0.00 (€ 0.00)”

    Any ideas?

Success. Disabled woocommerce-tax and enabled again. Added order after that – worked! ??

Thanks for your effort. Thought i could use auto tax. Now disabled and prices inclusive of tax.

    ??
