Other people uploading files on your site?

  • Hi,

    I have searched google for it in a variety of ways but can’t seem to get what I am searching for.

    I have a website with a WP theme of course. My question is, is it possible (either by plugin or to code) that other people make an account on your site and are able to upload their own games (in html5 form). Showcasing their game(s)?

    Somehting like armorgames and newgrounds? Of course not that sophisticated since it is a new and small site (for now) ??

  • This is potentially dangerous, since basically anyone can register with your site and upload files to your server; you need to be very careful to pick the right solution and make sure the file permissions on the server are properly tuned.

    This being said, there are many plugins out there allowing for user-uploaded content. Here’s one (I made a quick search and this came up):

    Thanks for your reply, I get that you are saying about it being dangerous. Another way is to say send in your games. If its good enough I will put in on the site myself (so they need permission).

    In that case I will decide whether a game will be put on the site or not. Thanks for pointing the risks out ??
