    Hi,

I am a plugin Developer and made this icon a few months ago when I started making plugins:

    plugins.svn.www.ads-software.com/easy-paypal-digital-downloads/assets/old_icon-128×128.png

I was using on all my PayPal plugins. I thought it looked good. I had to go find the images myself, use GIMP and it took me a while to make it look good and get the position and size perfect. After I set it as my icon for my plugins, my downloads increased a lot.

Then this plugin developer started making plugins a month ago and stole it and is using it on many his plugins – https://profiles.www.ads-software.com/jigneshkailam/#content-plugins

This hurt my downloads as people were attributing my plugins to his crappy ones – with bugs and tons of fake reviews.

Before you say – just make a new icon – I already did, and it is not giving as many downloads as the other one did.

Its annoying as can be, I mean I know that WordPress is about free and open and I highly respect that, but I believe your not suppose to steal no matter what.

Can anything be done about this?

    Thanks,
    Scott

I recommend getting in touch with plugins (at) wordpress (dot) org. There might be something they can do about it, but there really isn’t anything we can do about it here on these forums.
