I’m using the Google Map block. I have the Maps JavaScript API activated in Google and restricted to my website (as recommended). However, the Google Map block will not display a map. The map displays only for a second before displaying this error:

    Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.

The Google Maps API key is saved to the Google Map block Global Settings and is also listed in the Otter WordPress settings. Please advise.

    Hey @mousetransit,

Can you add the map block to a page and give us link to it so we could inspect this issue? Thank you!

    Hi, @hardeepasrani,

I have my entire website in maintenance mode so I’m unable to share pages at the moment. Is it possible that the maintenance mode is causing the display issue? Also, is there a way for me to inspect the issue logged into my WordPress site, as I am? Thanks!

    Hey @mousetransit,

We don’t know what can be the issue so we really can’t see. Can you open your browser console and see if you see any error related to Google Maps when you refresh the page?

If not, can you try to reproduce this issue on a test website here? https://jurassic.ninja/create/ (it takes less than a minute to set up a test site here without any signup or email).

    Posted in the wrong thread:

The console was giving me an HTTP referrer error, so I turned off App restrictions and just left on the API restriction. The Google Map block will now display a map with another error indicating that it can’t load properly. In the console, it states that I have to enable billing on my Google Cloud project. There is only a free trial for Google Cloud. It can’t be that this map block requires payment to Google Cloud, so now I’m stuck at this point.

It was the billing issue. Although I’m not sure what a reasonable limit would be on the API, I doubt it will go over their free limit. Thanks for the support.
