After the WordPress update, my otter blocks broke. They were all spaced unevenly and the buttons were split up over two lines of words. For instance before, the button said ‘Technology’ and the word was one line within the button, but now it is over two lines and the button is larger. When I go into my domain hosting site and revert the update, it gets fixed. But I want to make sure this problem won’t persist after the next updates too. As well, when I go into the pages back end to edit, it looks completely different than the front end. In the front end, everything is normally spaced out and clean (before the WordPress update) but in the backend everything is all over the place and some blocks are 3 letters wide but really long, some blocks are normal width and thus normal length. Anyway to fix that too? makes it incredibly difficult to work on the back end of the page. Thank you

    Hey @isaac25,

We are releasing an update of Otter this week which will be WP 5.9 compatible. However, even now with the current version of Otter + 5.9, things shouldn’t break. We only found some minor compatibility issues, so this might have been some other issue.

Would it be possible for you to have a clone of your website updated to 5.9 so we could take a look at the issues?

    Thank you!

Hey @hardeepasrani yes I have no problem doing that. I am sorry but I am not too familiar with WordPress so I don’t know how to do that. I will try to google it and find out and let you know once it is done. Thank you for replying!!

@isaac25 You might want to see if your hosting provider if they provide you with an option for that.

Since the updates, when I log into my WordPress dashboard to edit the homepage. I encounter a blank page.

I check out WordPress and they said that Otter has not updated their plugin to match the new updates with WordPress. Do you have an idea when the new updates will come out?

I am using the Gutenberg Blocks and Template Library by Otter. Please send the link to download the plugins.

@theminhtran would it be possible for you to send a video of this so we could see where exactly this is happening? You can post the video link here.

I’m using Neve on a couple of sites and have this plugin installed, it’s been a huge pain trying to do anything since the last WordPress update, to add a photo to a gallery I have to deactivate the plugin just so I can actually see the gallery, then once the image is added the drag and drop feature to organise them doesn’t work, you can click on the image and drag it, but then it just flies back to where it was.

This morning I tried to update a gallery and after deactivating the plugin I can’t access the Upload button at all, this is driving me crazy.

I have taken a screenshot of what I see on the back-end with the plugin activated.

@bam-bam Yes, we are aware of this issue and it will be fixed in the upcoming release. The Image organizing grid of Otter doesn’t work with the 5.9 as they’ve changed entirely how galleries work. The update should be out this week.

An update is out. Please update and let us know how it goes!

    Hardeep,

The not being able to access the Gallery problem is fixed, but the reorganise problem is still there, drag and drop doesn’t work, it just flies back to where it was.

@bam-bam Really? That’s weird. Are you able to reorder properly from within the gallery?

If not can you send a video of exactly what is happening?

    Hardeep,

Well you learn something new everyday, I never knew I could move the images around within the gallery itself, I never gave a thought to each image being a separate block and yes I can do that.

BUT, drag and drop still doesn’t work, I have done a screen recording for you to see, link below.

    Drag and Drop not working

@bam-bam Okay, so you’re talking about that drag & drop. It appears it’s an issue with WordPress 5.9. I tried to see if it works on a new WordPress install without Otter and it still doesn’t work.

Yes, it’s indeed an issue with WordPress 5.9: https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/54902

Ok thanks for your efforts, hopefully WordPress will sort that out soon.

@hardeepasrani Hi, i went to my site now (which still has the otter blocks all messed up on wordpress 5.9 but I can’t find a way to clone it to show you) and now when i go to edit my page I get this:

“your site doesn’t include support for the “themeisle-blocks/advanced-columns” block. You can leave this block intact, convert its content to a custom HTML block, or remove it entirely”

The only option i get is a button which says keep it as HTML and When i click that it turns it into code which i don’t understand. Is there any way to get the blocks back so i can edit them like ive been doing on this site?

    Thanks
