• I see the business decision behind trying to be SquareSpace. I can understand trying to make wordpress.com more like it. But I just don’t get why www.ads-software.com users have to be forcefed too. If someone wants a SquareSpace website, they won’t be buying a hosting and installing a CMS and all that, they would just use SquareSpace. If you want to compete, make it a plugin and force it on wp.com, but don’t force the rest of us to use it. More so when it is still such a pain to use. I honestly see no benefit in forcing it into core. I don’t see a benefit in Gutenberg at all, to be honest, but I can concede that someone might. But it really really should be opt-in.

Like me – I think it’s a long overdue change.

But it really really should be opt-in.

For me at least the Classic Editor does that pretty well.

I understand that others want the current editor to remain the default for some time (maybe indefinitely) but I definitely think that’s the least best approach.
