out of stock

In the estore theme, when the product is out of stock, then for variable products the “out of stock” message is displayed in the shop listing and in categories. But for simple products you need to open the product to see, if the products is in stock or not.
How would it be possible to change the behaviour, so that “out of stock” would be displayed for all products in the shop/category page?
