After further investigation I have found, Product shows “IN STOCK” when I import them but as soon as I edit anything for that product for e.g. adding tags, it will go “OUT OF STOCK”. To me it looks like database sync issue. Any help on this topic will be much appreciated.

Product shows “IN STOCK” when I import them but as soon as I GO inside the product and hit the update button with/without making any changes on product it will set the product “OUT of STOCK”.

Temporary and very time consuming fix is Edit–>Variation–>Select any variation and uncheck manage stock and check it again and update. This will again show your products back “IN STOCK”.

This is very time consuming task which means if I will import 100 product then manually I have to go inside each product and uncheck and check back the manage stock button to fix.

Any clue why updating the product would cause “OUT of STOCK”. Please help.

Me too. Lots of stock, shows out of stock. Disabled all plugs except woocommerce. Tried a different theme. Cleaned database (sessions, transients, etc), updated database, ensured all software at latest version. Nothing helped.

If I save product with different stock, it works until next purchase of the product.

Has any of you found a fix for this issue? I’m having the same problem and can’t seem to get it fixed.

I am having the same issue. Have tried all the usual (Disabled plugins except woocommerce, different theme, cleaned database (sessions, transients, etc), updated database, ensured all software at the latest version.) If anyone finds the culprit of solution would love to know.

@bestblogintheworld you left out an important factor. You stated “when you import” how are you importing? CSV? Plugin? API? How? Very important factor.

All other commenters, @atlasfire @joluitsme @squibs you are better off creating your own posts. https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/woocommerce/#new-post Otherwise you will get buried in this thread and won’t be helped efficiently.

Please make sure that you all have several factors checked. Do not check inventory management on the product level. Make sure that is unchecked and applied to the variations. Make sure enable is also checked. Make sure dimensions are in as well if not applied on the product level. Then test.

@serafinnyc I’ll stick with this thread thanks. We’re all experiencing the same issue, so that makes sense. Also I need to do inventory management on the parent product level, as my product variations are “book course and pay all” or “book course and pay deposit” – buying either takes the parent course stock (aka number of available places) down by 1.

This seems to have no solution yet the problem dates back years in various forums. I am perplexed and have tried all “solutions” to no avail ??

I solve this issue installing WP Fastest Cache and clicking in “Clear”

It’s seems a server cache issue. I’ve inserted define( 'WP_CACHE', false ); in wp-config.php as well

    Hi all,
The post by @serafinnyc is correct.
Go to Product data, choose variable product.
Go to Attributes, choose your attribute from the list (you should have previously created your attributes in Attribute tab). Select your values. Check “Visable on the product page” and “Used for variations.” Save.
Go to Variations, choose Create variations from all attributes, Go. Click each variation and enter the price and dimensions. You can add the dimensions in bulk but I haven’t found a way to add the price in bulk edit. If you figure it out, let me know. Make sure “Enabled” is checked under each variation. Add price and dimensions. Make sure Stock status is “in stock.”
    Save changes. Update post.
I fought this issue for months until finding this post by @serafinnyc – Thank you for your help.

I just fixed a similiar ‘out of stock’ problem for varients that had stock and prices in them. The person updating the stock quantities had added info into the ‘inventory’ tab used for single products, as well as adding them for each variant. WordPress must have gotten confused and defaulted to ‘out of stock’.

This might be a fix for someone looking to solve this issue?
