I have the option in Woocommerce settings|products|inventory enabled to hide out of stock items from the catalog. On product pages, I’ve enabled the option to display in both shop and search results. Yesterday, I used a CSV import to reduce most stock to zero. However, those items are still displaying. Is there a setting I’m missing in Woocommerce, or is there an option on individual product pages that’s over-riding the one that is enabled?

    Hey there!

Because the stock is at 0 does not mean that (to WooCommerce) that it is out of stock. You can allow backorders, which would show up as you are describing, with the stock at 0, but still in stock.

I believe the settings are set in my dashboard to hide out-of-stock (oos) items. In Woocommerce settings | Products | Inventory:

    stock management is enabled
    low stock threshold: 2
    oos threshold: 0
oos visibility: enabled to hide oos products

However, I was looking for differences between 1 product page that is hidden, and another that isn’t but should be, at least if my understanding of those Woocommerce settings is correct. I found one. Under Product Data | Inventory, manage stock is enabled. When that is disabled, an additional drop-down appears. The option selected in the product page that’s behaving as expected is “Out of stock” while in the one that isn’t hiding and should be, “In stock” is selected.

I found this yesterday using the All Import CSV file plugin, for the first time by the way. It allows 4 options:

    In stock
    Out of stock
    Backorder
    Automatic

I selected the Automatic option. I think I also selected an option to affect only the records that had changed since I downloaded the CSV to my local drive. In any case, I believe I can use this plugin to set all products to be hidden, but I’m confused about which option to select. Also confusing is the automatic option; it isn’t an option in Woocommerce. I only just learned that this morning.
