Site worked fine previously. This morning the back-end has been extremely slow and checked with Jetpack got this error:

    Outbound HTTPS not working
Your site could not connect to WordPress.com via HTTPS. This could be due to any number of reasons, including faulty SSL certificates, misconfigured or missing SSL libraries, or network issues.

Checking with the hosting company to figure out what is wrong. Also on a non-ssl site, I having issue connecting to www.ads-software.com site. It is very slow opening up dashboard and updating plugins produces error messages on (update.php) connecting to www.ads-software.com.

Disabling Jetpack seems to work but Dashboard is still slow opening up (connecting to www.ads-software.com could be the issue).

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @qdhd99

    Glad to help!

If your site is not connected with the Jetpack and the issue persists, that means an error with your hosting, not with the plugin. Jetpack makes the connection between WordPress.com systems and your website.

Note that SSL errors are related to the hosting, not with your website. You need to ask them to reinstall the certificate, then force all the access via HTTPS (via htaccess or server setup).

To avoid errors with SSL and your site’s files, I recommend you to install the plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ssl-insecure-content-fixer/

Let me know if you have any questions.

    My best regards,

    Michelle C.

Thank you for your reply, Michelle. Appreciated.

The problem I am having is that all my ssl-enabled sites (10 sites) are experiencing the same issue. My hosting has yet to get back to me. The plugin recommended does not help with issue. Hope to find out why out of blue this is happening.

    Hi there,

The problem I am having is that all my ssl-enabled sites (10 sites) are experiencing the same issue.

This is something that looks like an issue from your host. It would be worth checking what they are saying and why the issue started to appear suddenly on all sites hosted on the same provider.

Thank you Animesh. Our hosting company finally solved the problem. The hosting company’s control panel server crashed and for some reason it affected ssl connections to both wordpress.com and www.ads-software.com. This made backend admin and news posting almost impossible. It did not in any way have impact on web performance as there was no ssl request to be made to either wp.com or wp.org. Thanks for your help.
