Outgoing communication

    Hello.

    We are having issues with Wordfence contacting its servers (noc*.wordfence.com) due to our strict organisation policy. This is not going to change.

    Please let me know what side-effects this might have in practice. Or, to put it in a better way, is outgoing communication absolutely compulsory for Wordfence to provide basic protection? I am mainly interested in rules updates.

    Hi @fesarlis, thanks for your question.

    We regularly update the plugin’s firewall rules and scan signatures in line with the latest threats. Your main issues when unable to connect to our servers would be around the updating of those and running site scans.

    noc1 would be required for scanning your site, and noc4 would be required to update rules and signatures. Some blocking, plugin settings, and Login Security features would work but you would be heavily limited unfortunately.
