• Outgoing trackbacks are not sending. Internal trackbacks are fine (link to older articles…).

I checked my blog settings and they are fine. I disabled all plug-ins, and read about 1000 diffrent articles about the same things. Very frustrating.

My hosting guys have no idea where to look… So what can block outgoing trackbacks on a server? Something on the server, security stuff, errors?

    ITs a VDS –
    CentOS 5
    cPanel
    Nagios
    Dedicated IP

  • Do you mean they are not being seen on the other sites?

Yes, they are not beeing sent, except for my own domain, linking to older stories.

They will be being sent – it’s just they are being stopped at the receiving site.

When pingbacks and trackbacks became a thing years ago it was excellent. But then the spammers saw they could get traffic to their own spammy sites by also sending these pingbacks and trackbacks. They created software which would send these without them having even visited your site. And they send millions. Over 99.9% of trackbacks sent are spam. So you will find that most trackbacks are now blocked. Spammers ruined the feature.

Nah, I tested with my own blogs. It’s not sending anything. I don’t know where to look…
