Hello everyone. I’m in a pickle. All I need is a contact form to work on my website. My host is Godaddy and they use Outlook for hosting an email account too. I was on the phone for a long time with Godaddy who couldn’t resolve the issue and told me to raise a ticket here. I have an understanding of coding but am completely in the dark with Smtp or whatever it is that is blocking me here.

I’ve paid for my email with them and I’m happy with my website. The form is even there on the linked page. I was getting many error messages and then Godaddy got involved and was able to send a message from the email I want to use, to another I had and he said this proves it is working well. However… When I use the form on the site, I receive no emails, not in spam or anywhere. When I reached out to WP Mail Smtp they told me to raise the issue here wwith the details that godaddy provided me with. Which are:

    Port: 25
    SMTP Authentication: False or none
    SSL or Secure Connection: None
    Server or Host: localhost
These are our smtp relay settings.

Please can anyone help or advise? I simply want to have a contact form on my site that works. I don’t mind how it looks. And I’m happy using a basic form so I don’t want to have to pay for extra options because I’ll be honest I can’t afford it. I just want a contact form to work simply.

    Can someone please help?

    Thank you all.

  • Hi @octobotnovelty1,

Thanks for reaching out. GoDaddy is super strict on sending emails and often blocks outbound SMTP ports giving you that default SMTP configuration. Please see the details in this troubleshooting guide. You should use encryption and authentication wherever possible. Alternatively, you can switch to other available mailers, we have documentation on setting up each.

    I hope this helps!
