Outputting the shortcode on Wysigwig

    Hi. I inserted the tablepress shortcode in the wyswig editor on the Visual board but when I switched to the Text board, it just shows the actual shortcode and not the table. Can you advise on this? Thanks.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    I’m a bit confused here. What are you expecting to happen when doing that? In the editing interface, only the Shortcode will be shown, while the table will then be shown on the actual page/post only.

    And just to be sure: Are you using an older version of WordPress, with the old Visual and Text editor?

    Thank you for your reply. I’m using the latest version of WordPress. What I’m trying to do is output the Tablepress short in a Single Post as a custom field. Is this possible?

    Hi,

    by default, this will likely not work, because WordPress does not evaluate Shortcodes in Custom Fields.
    You would have to modify your theme to do this (by adding do_shortcode( ... )) when echoing the value of the Custom Field in the single post template file.
