• WP User Avatar version 2.2.16 is a simple but great plugin used by +400,000 websites for archiving user avatars.

Suddenly version 3.0 appears with a completely new name and additional functionality, which clashes with other plugins for login, registration and password recovery.

Why have you forced this unrequested BLOATWARE on all plugin users?

An immediate ROLLBACK to version 2.2.16 is urgently demanded.

    Please confirm.

Same. This forced “update” caused a plugin conflict that broke a section of my site. I noticed it about five minutes after sending an email to a few thousand people advertising a page on that section of the site.

For anyone who needs a workaround, here’s a link to a recent version of WP User Avatar: https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/wp-user-avatar.2.2.16.zip

For the developers: the conflicting plugins in my case are Yoast SEO and The Events Calendar.

The worst decision I’ve ever seen.

Better idea, separate the plugins, put a dashboard notification in wp user avatar plugin saying “Hey guys you’ve been using my plugin for a while, it’s awesome, I’m an awesome person, please check out my new awesome plugin”, not this forced garbage.

I’m closing this topic as it’s not a support topic but more of a venting blog post. This site isn’t anyone’s blog though we do have software to let you do that.

If you need support for this plugin, please raise a support topic. You can do so here.

If you want to vent, complain, pile on then don’t. That’s not what this site is for.
