Currently, all my posts sent via postie are being assigned to the default category, even if the post category is successfully overridden in the subject. So, if my default category is ‘Uncategorised’ and I prefix my email subject with ‘News:’, then the post is categorised as ‘News’ AND ‘Uncategorised’.

Is this how Postie is supposed to work? Ideally, I would want the category override to replace the default category, rather than add to it.

    Thanks,

    Chris

When I test this the default category is not assigned.

Looking at the code it specifically only applied the default if a category is not found in the subject.

However, it does look like there is an edge case where if “Remove matched categories” is set to No the default is added.

I’ll fix this in the next release.
