Accelerator doesnt overwrites meta tags. The test that was made was putting banner text in searching only shows this text on other sites. That is how search engines work. Putting another text in search will show such test in other sites.

Accelerator doesnt break the WP.ORG rules. Banner is only in plugin from our site (not from WP.ORG).

I’d suggest, if you don’t want the footer ad, just don’t download the ‘extended version’ and benefit from caching only or go for premium version. I personally like this approach as devs are giving you options. I guess, when you are downloading ‘extended version’ from their site, there is a disclaimer of agreement that you grant them this permission. So, I think anyone can just decide for themselves how to go about it. I personally left 5* as I think they’ve developed something really terrific. I’ve been testing and configuring a bunch of different solutions but it has always been quite a chore with hit or miss results.
