Own Directory for WordPress but Blog URL in Root
-
I want WordPress to open in the root directory but have all files in a separate folder so I followed the instructions for putting WordPress in its own directory but could not make it work.
So I did a new install, starting it out in its own directory and then copied index.php into the root directory of website. I opened the Admin and changed Blog URL to the root of website. I also copied .htaccess from root directory to /wordpress directory (is that part necessary?).
WordPress seems to be working but I’m wondering if this is going to be okay or if there is something I am missing.
Should I leave the original index.php in the /wordpress directory or delete it? Thanks.
