P-tags in biographical info

  • Since updating to the latest WordPress, paragraph tags with the brackets are visible in my bio blurb! Any idea what’s causes the platform to render tags visible to site viewers? Weird.

  • Hi there! So you’re seeing ‘<p></p>’ tags in your bio content when displayed on the site? Recently WordPress introduced a Visual Editor mode to the Text Widget. This might potentially be behind your issue as html tags may now show up as “regular” text content. Anyway, take a look at that and see if that might be behind the issue. If not, your issue may be more specific to your theme and/or plugins.

    Hi, thanks for your response! This particular field, the biographical field accessible via the Dashboard > Users > Your Profile, doesn’t appear to be visual-editor-capable. Unless I’m missing something, it’s just a text box with no markup option.

    I suspect you’re right that it’s the theme’s incompatibility with the latest version of WordPress. But where would I start looking? Is this a known issue with several themes? Etc.

    Okay then it most likely is an issue with your theme. Contact the theme developer for help/support with the theme.
