• Whenever I click on the “previous links” button in my archive pages, it takes me to category/page/2/ but with an error 404 page showing.

I edited the kubrick template slightly, any ideas? Thanks for all your help!

  • Apparently, by altering WordPress scripture you have committed sacrilege, and thus certain functions are no longer available to you.

The same thing has happened to me where previous entries from the front page are concerned, because I committed the cardinal sin of editing templates. I’m afraid we are lost in the misery that is Word Press perdition and shall have to do with functions more observant Word Press admins take for granted

Are you joking? I’m being penalized because I edited my template? That makes no sense to me! If someone could please visit https://usa.youreinsured.org and click on any one of the two letter state acronyms at the top of the page you’ll be taken to the appropriate category, then scroll down to the bottom of the page, click previous entries.. and voila, 404 ?? I’m hoping to get this site up and running asap so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

If I am being penalized for “editing my template” I’d like to know just as well? Thanks! ??

I can’t recreate the scenario you’ve described. The previous previous entries text is not being presented.

If you can indicate what you changed in the default template that would be help isolate the problem. Changing templates is a powerful aspect of WordPress but the consequence is that sometimes functionality is affected.

    1. Your layout is messed up in Firefox – you have a mile long horizontal scrollbar… ??
    2. No next/prev links displayed on any of your “state” categories. Just empty pages with some ads. Or one single post.
    3. If you have 5 posts an your category and your page is set to show 6, it will never display any next/prev link.

Moshu: I managed to get rid of that huge horizontal scrollbar, so thank you!

If anyone else has any tips for my new site (I’ve already mentioned the link above) then please don’t hesitate to leave a comment here or on my blog, thanks so much for all your support!
