• Funny under Focus Keyword is says my keyword was found 19 times

Your focus keyword was found in:
Article Heading: Yes (1)
Page title: Yes (1)
Page URL: No
Content: Yes (19)
Meta description: Yes (1)

but under my page analysis it says it’s found 0 times…

To update this page analysis, save as draft or update and check this tab again.
The keyword density is 0%, which is a bit low, the keyword was found 0 times.
The slug for this page is a bit long, consider shortening it.

Is there a fix for this issue coming aoon??

I have this problem as well. Hopefully there is someone who knows the solution and can chime it.

My problem seems to have been fixed with the last update. Not sure what the issue was. Hopefully they will come out with a fix for you @graham39106 and @stellarfuture.

I noticed that the keyword density is not working (i.e. wrongly showing 0% density) when there are ?? in the Content Field. When I manually remove those, the keyword density is displayed correctly.

Oh, something’s missing from my previous post: nbsp. The problem causing keyword density not showing is related to the non-breaking spaces created by WP content field when there are empty paragraphs.

Thanks bstn, my problem seems to be resolved now!

Unfortunately, I even have the problem with single keywords… ??

It looks like there is something wrong (inconsistient) with keyword parsing scheme.

As many users noticed not only in this thread, there is difference between KW count among tabs. Recently I’ve noticed, that KW counting is strange for page title.

I’ve got two different messages:

1. The keyword / phrase ?wiczenia tai chi does not appear in the page title.

2. ‘The page title contains keyword / phrase, at the beginning which is considered to improve rankings.’

The only difference is capital letter at the beginning of KW phrase.

1. ?wiczenia tai chi

2. ?wiczenia tai chi

In fact, page title starts with ?wiczenia Tai Chi. I believe it is language specific problem because the very first letter is specific to polish language. Probably there is a problem with translating it from upper to lower case.

It is not a major issue. However it would be nice to see all green dots on Page Analysis tab ??

Same problem, and not related to spaces. Just unrecognized.

@saintandrews
.. yes, it is very weird, counting in its own way and very different Google does.
It looks like Google can skip some words and “glue” consecutive words to get keyword. I no longer rely on this check in WPSEO

There’s also the problem that punctuation in the page/post title causes for the algorithm. Since the URL slug drops punctuation automatically, a punctuated key phrase is now “absent” from the URL. If the post/page title is punctuated while the identical key phrase words are not, key phrase and title no longer match. This seems like it would be easy to fix, though.

When trying to present a good overall SEO score, these separate and different issues necessarily become related one to another.

@saintandrews
You are right, but what we can do? This tool has been apparently designed to help with proper Google score. If it doesn’t work properly, you have to ignore it’s results.. anyway, we do not want to satisfy Yoast but Google, do we?

Regarding the original post “Keyword Density of 0%”, I just ran into that, and indeed, deleting the non-breaking space in an empty paragraph immediately solved this issue. Thanks, bstn, for the tip. Saved me lots of agony.

@bstn, @laurarduggan
Do you mean empty paragraphs with hard-space inside? Like

I don’t think they do any harm.. I have several posts with those nbsp; and they work well. Actually in all my posts , KW counting works nice. Maybe it’s been corrected in last upgrades?

@tom,
No, the offending line was just:

No paragraph markers. When I deleted it, the erroneous line got corrected. Seems odd, but i am running the most recent version.
