• https://estesparkrealtors.com/new-site/ is in development and based on the twenty-ten theme.

When you pause over the navigation tabs, the background color in IE9 changes slightly. I made the background red to exaggerate this effect. Simply rolling across the navigation does not do it, but a hovering pause causes the page background to get brighter. Rolling off causes it to dim again.

Any thoughts on why this might be happening is appreciated! Is this happening in your version if IE as well, or is it just IE9? Any insight is great!

  • Hmm – I don’t see this in IE9.0 beta. How odd.

I fired up IE8 & IE7 as well, and don’t see the effect you describe.

It is super strange. I took a screenshot of the false “hover state” and pulled it into photoshop. I sampled the color of the hovered state and the color is nowhere to be found within my stylesheet.

My husband confirmed that he can see it changing color too. I also rebooted numerous times within the last 2 days and still see it.

Thanks for testing it. Anyone else?

How bizarre. I’m on an LCD (flat-screen) monitor, a Mac. You? Maybe that makes a difference?

I’m seeing the response an LCD flat screen monitor PC. Windows Vista.

Do you see the colour shift in Firefox, Chrome, Safari or another browser?

If you set the background to white, do you see anything shift?

No. I don’t see any noticeable shift if I set to white. No change with black. I tried hot pink and light green #abae7a and cannot discern any changes.

But if I use red, or the color I actually initially wanted ##2a3e1e (a forest green color), I see it. The red seems to most obviously show the problem, though.
