I am having this problem on every page of my website – when I go to the website only the header and some of the text displays until I click on the page (or touch the screen on a device). It’s like the background isn’t loading properly. I am a bit of a novice WordPress user, can anyone help or give simple advice of how I can try and fix this?

    Hello @lucyoliva

Could you please provide a short video recording from your end so that I could see how things behave? I have looked at the website and couldn’t reproduce any of the issues. ??

    Thanks.

@cteduard here is a link which hopefully works to a video recording, you can see when I change pages the purple background and text doesn’t display until i scroll over it with my mouse. it is the same on a device only i have to touch the screen to make it display

    Hello @lucyoliva

Hmm, this looks like a optimisation solution configuration problem. I do see that you’re using some kind of “nitro” service.

Have you tried disabling it temporarily so that you could confirm if that is the culprit?

    Thanks.

@cteduard yes I did try that and unfortunately it didn’t make a difference

    Hello @lucyoliva

Could you please deactivate these services and let me know so that I could verify from my end as well?

    Thanks!

@cteduard thanks I have deactivated it

    Hello @lucyoliva

Ok, now with this off I see a lot more caching solutions on the site, which can interfere with one another. This is most likely the reason why you do not see any changes, because the optimised version is still cached by the server. It is never recommended to run more than one caching solution on the site.

    See this – https://ibb.co/t3qrxHh

Let’s get Varnish, Cloudflare and any other server side caching systems disabled next for a true test.

One thing is certain, the theme cannot affect how this workflow works. More so that most of our features aren’t used anyway, since the site is mainly built with Elementor.

    Thanks.

@cteduard thank you, i am unsure how to disable the caching systems. I am unaware of Varnish or Cloudflare

@cteduard I did just flush the cache with my host godaddy though

    Hello @lucyoliva

Hmm, maybe you could try getting in touch with the hosting service to see if you can disable these services, at least temporarily? I’m perfectly confident that the issue will be solved automatically.

To further explain why you are seeing this error – many optimisation/caching services do not really “increase” the speed of the site, as this wouldn’t be really possible with a simple service. They increase only the perceived speed of the website by delaying the core assets of the site to load until the first user interaction. This can be moving the mouse or tapping on the screen on touch devices. That’s why in your video the second you move your mouse the site’s critical assets load and the styles are presented as they should.

    ??

    Thanks.

@cteduard it seems to be working today so one of the settings i changed must have worked. Many thanks for your help ??

You are most welcome, @lucyoliva! ???♂?
