• Hi Greg,

I downloaded Page Builder from your site yesterday in the morning and built some pages with it without any problems. Later on I saw that there was an update to 1.4.4 and I updated it. After that I couldn’t properly create new pages with Page Builder, they are just blank after editing. Also when I try to edit previously working pages built with Page Builder, they also get deleted/blanked.

To add some more complexity to the bug: Sometimes the inserted text is modified in some weird way (e.g. there are suddenly “/n” strings in the text and some HTML tags are missing).

Hope you can fix this soon, I really like your plugin.

    Best regards

tsinghua, I haven’t seen the login details come through. Can you email them?

mechx1, that is interesting. Hopefully I’ll be able to figure out and fix this issue soon.

    My mistake — sending manually.

tsinghua, it seems like the dev version did fix the issue. The probelm was, the old Javascript was being cached by Varnish. I changed the code so it requested the unminified versions of the Javascript.

Page Builder 1.4.5 will include the fix for the issue you were having. Just make sure you purge your Varnish cache ??

Greg, you have access to my site as well. Currently running the dev plugin.

    Thanks, Greg!

That’s odd that Varnish was misbehaving, I cleared the cache through the “Performance” tab twice after loading the new plugin. Furthermore, I thought that the wp-admin section wasn’t supposed to be cached by Varnish, anyways?

Thanks again for your help, and I’ll look forward to that update.

FYI: I just installed 1.4.5 and still having the same issue.

We just installed the update, and now we are able to update pages normally. Our caching plugin is turned off at present. gottlike, is it possible you are experiencing the same caching issue tsinghua had?

I just flushed my browser cache and disable the WP cache plugin, still same behaviour, unfortunately.

@greg: Would you check it yourself, if I create a temporary admin account for you?

Yeah, I can take a look. The mail is [email protected]

I sent you the credentials via email on Friday. If you have any news or don’t need the account anymore, please tell me, so I can delete it.

    Thanks

Sorry, I’ve been jugging quite a few requests and admin logins. Can you remind me which login details were yours? What was the site URL?

“tmp_greg” is the username. I can send you the URL via email, if that’s not enough.

FYI: Just updated to 1.4.6, still broken.

    Hi Greg,

No issues here. I would though suggest that you post a sticky stating that older versions should be archived in case a newer version has issues. If you are utilizing a plugin on a production site, roll it back to an earlier proven version. Do not depend on the WP updates, go and manually download these versions and rename them according to their respective versions.

It is not fair to yourself, client, the plugin author nor is it good practice to install a plugin or script which may fail without the means of rolling back.

i have the same problem. when i click update it wipes anything i’ve added to widgets. i updated to 1.4.5 and now to 1.4.6 and it still happens.

my site is: focallocal.org and i have none of the same plugins as gottlike, but a few the same as mechx1. i’m running the latest release of wordpress.
