    Hi,

I was working on my site and after adding a widget from the builder interface to my homepage my website kept timing out. I went ahead and deactivate the plugin via FTP and the site started working again. I thought about deleting the plugin and reinstalling it, but I’m afraid to delete the plugin and lose all my layout. How can I go about fixing it? Please help!

    Hi loiruca,

What was the specific widget you added? I ask because it’s very likely that plugin isn’t compatible with SiteOrigin Page Builder.

It’s perfectly fine to reinstall SiteOrigin Page Builder, your data is stored in the database, which means it’s separate to the plugin files.

HI, thanks for your reply. I actually added a category loop from the plugin interface and it caused the website to time out. I will delete the plugin and install again and see what happens.

Ok, I deleted the Page Builder by SiteOrigin plugin and re-installed and the site is still timing out once the plugin is activated. The other plugin SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle has no issues. What should I do?

    Hi loiruca,

We don’t actually inclue a widget called category loop. I’m not too sure what is adding this widget but we really need to find out to proceed.

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if the widget disappears? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If the widget does disappear, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the widget comes back. This procedure will help us work out what is adding this widget.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the widget is being added by your theme.

Ok, I sorted out. Not sure what happened but the issue was with the post loop widget from the Page Builder. Once I changed themes and put back to my theme it started working again. I guess my theme as acting out with the post loop. Thanks for your reply.
