    Hi @fsudmann

    The thread referenced contained a very specific Jetpack conflict.

    The issue you’ve run into will be fixed in the next release of Page Builder. Your server is either running PHP 5 or it’s running PHP 7 but the fileinfo extension isn’t enable. Sorry for the hassle.

    To hotfix, go to Appearance > Editor > inc > siteorigin-panels.php and delete this function.

    https://github.com/purothemes/polestar/blob/master/inc/siteorigin-panels.php#L11-L18

    Before doing so it’s best to have FTP access to your server OR hosting file manager access via cPanel or similar. If you had to make a mistake and don’t delete exactly the lines indicated you could throw an error in which case you’d need to delete and reinstall the theme. The theme is located at /wp-content/themes/ on your server, the folder name is polestar

    For sure, sorry about this. The delete is really quick if done carefully and should immediately fix the issue. Let us know how it goes. Thanks.

    Hi @misplon,

    Same problem. But I just can’t locate the siteorigin-panels.php as can’t find the “inc” in Editor. Can you help with that?

    Thanks!

    James

    @misplon

    I tried to edit some previous Siteorigin widgets, it shows that I need to install SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.

    But when I did that, the Installation failed: Destination folder already exists.

    I also tried to install it again after I deleted the Page Builder by SiteOrigin, still didn’t work. Still Installation failed: Destination folder already exists.

    Please advice. Thanks!

    I installed the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle by the support form WP happy Engineer, but Page builder still doesn’t work.

    Hi @james201803

    Sorry to hear about the hassle. Are you using SiteOrigin Corp or Polestar? Those are the only two themes the inc/siteorigin-panels.php fix applies to. The folder will be at Appearance > Editor if one of those two themes are activated. If you can’t find it, use in page search, ctrl + f or cmd + f for Mac and search for the term inc. Click on inc and you’ll see siteorigin-panels.php.

    To recover from the Destination folder already exists issue, login to your server via FTP or Hosting File Manager and delete the siteorigin-panels folder found at /wp-content/plugins. You can then reinstall Page Builder by SiteOrigin from Plugins > Add New. If you don’t use FTP and have never used Hosting File Manager, Google your host name + file manager. For example, Google “GoDaddy Hosting File Manager” and you’ll find instructions on how to access the file manager.

    (If possible, in future, it’s best to open a new support topic for each question and each WordPress setup is a little bit different.)

    @misplon Problem solved. Thank you!

    Super ?? Glad to hear you’ve made progress. Thanks for your understanding. We’ll resolve the base issue in next week’s Page Builder update.

    All the best.
