• I noticed some text at the bottom of my site in the source code that to me appears troubling.

W3 Total Cache: Page cache debug info:
    Engine: disk: enhanced
    Cache key: theprudentninja.com/_index_preview.html
    Caching: disabled
Reject reason: User is logged in
    Creation Time: 0.672s
    Header info:
    X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN
    X-Pingback: https://theprudentninja.com/xmlrpc.php
    Expires: Wed, 11 Jan 1984 05:00:00 GMT
    Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate, max-age=0
    Pragma: no-cache
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
    X-Powered-By: W3 Total Cache/0.9.4.1

Is this normal or is there a fox in the henhouse?

  • You probably have your cache disabled for logged in users. To do that, W3TC sets your expires header to a date in the past – any date will do – that just happens to be the one it chose. You’ll notice cache-control and pragma forcing a flush also.
