hi, I just update to Versión 0.9.2 of W3 Total Cache and get this error in the dashboard.

It appears Page Cache URL rewriting is not working. If using apache, verify that the server configuration allows .htaccess or if using nginx verify all configuration files are included in the configuration.

I had no error before the update, can someone please help in how to fix it ?

    Thanks.

  • Nope.
Tried every combination. Unchecked the rewrite URL.
Then did manual minify, with only ONE css file, my main one…
    Verified the URI ok.
Site comes up with no styling.
The minification is trashing the css…..
Been working on this for two hours.
Going to fall back a couple of versions..

Just “upgraded” to 0.9.2.1. No joy unless minify mode is set to manual. Set to auto, my theme CSS is not delivered- I just get naked raw pages (sounds sexy, but it’s not!).

@munman, odd works for me, doesn’t break CSS.
But the site loads extremely slowly. I’m talking like over a minute to load the main page. Clicking on any links on the site is dead awful.

Do you know how to properly configure browser caching?

This is just ridiculous, I mean the site worked faster with CloudFlare only, and even without any caching it worked faster. The most bloated coffee shop internet connection was faster than it is right now.

    Any suggestions?

    UPDATE

@munman and robnalexpress – yeah it only works for me under manual but it seems like it doesn’t work no matter what munman does, manual or auto.

    UPDATE 2

Wow it’s so slow I’m getting internal 500 server errors.

    FYI –

Under “Minify”, did not select “Rewrite URL structure”; with this not selected, the error message is gone.

    Under “General”==>”Minify (enable)->”Minify Mode” (Manual)
“Select manual mode to use fields on the minify settings tab to specify files to be minified, otherwise files will be minified automatically, but will not use the CDN.”

However, under “Content Delivery Network”–> “Host minified CSS and JS files” can not be checked/selected (?)

In short, “Minify Mode” (Manual) is not working with CDN (?)

    Thanks icarenow!

Now thought once I do that it throws a new error.

The has unresolved errors. Empty the queue to restore normal operation.

Also for CDN it now says

Content Delivery Network Error: The “Replace default hostname with” field must be populated. Enter CDN provider hostname. (This is the hostname used in order to view objects in a browser.)

Even though nothing is selected under CDN.

I’m back on version 9.1.3 and it’s all back to normal now…
I’m gonna wait ’til the smoke clears’ a little before I venture into version 9.2+

    Update re:
‘ However, under “Content Delivery Network”–> “Host minified CSS and JS files” can not be checked/selected (?)
In short, “Minify Mode” (Manual) is not working with CDN (?)’

Site was good for all pages when logged in (even with Minify not working with CDN) including the homepage.

But, had to eventually “disable” “Minify” as otherwise, the site’s homepage was garbled when not logged in.

Luckily I saved a copy of the config file and reloaded it, now everything seems to work fine. Although as you mentioned here under CDN not to select “Host minified CSS and JS files” well from what I am seeing I cannot even select it, probably because I was finally able to clean up the settings for FTP.

But if I deselect any of the checkboxes under general under CDN it still throws an error.

Could someone please go to the site at Salt Lake Examiner
and let me know how slow it is for you.
Home page, some of the other pages, and posts please.

    Thanks

    @ vitalichka
Your site is not loading with any styling. Plain vanilla.
No styling on any of the other pages either.
    Speed is good though!
Version 9.2+ has you man… ditch it

Thanks munman – yeah I’m getting a 78/100 on speed test
I just completely disabled minify under general settings (general>minify)

just checked and CSS is loading.

    Could you please check again?

    Thanks Munman!!!

Working great now. Downgrade to 9.1.3 and you’ll be fine.

I SWEAR that 9.2 was working fine for me. I MIGHT upgrade to 9.2 and see if it works. Might be 9.2.1 only that went bad….

    P.S. – I like your background

Thanks man, any chance u might have a link to 9.1.3?
I just set URL rewrite to ‘on’ and it seems to work fine but then again not sure if it’s ‘really’ working since I disabled minify. It says

Minify via disk is currently disabled.

CloudFlare is already doing all my Auto-Minify for me on CF anyway.

    Thanks for your help

PS. How needed is Rewrite URL structure??

I am new to W3 Total Cache, installed 0.9.2 earlier today, and then upgraded to 0.9.2.1. Page Cache works fine with the APC Opcode cache module, but Minify works only with Disk cache. Enabling Minify APC caching results in this same warning others have reported and web pages are unstyled:

It appears Minify URL rewriting is not working. If using apache, verify that the server configuration allows .htaccess or if using nginx verify all configuration files are included in the configuration.

Selecting the Manual Minify mode does not correct that problem.

@admintiger – make sure to logout from the site and look at it again to make sure CSS is working because otherwise as admin it will all look fine.

    @ vitalichka
You can get any of the versions
    here
