Page Content appearing in menu

I played with this some more. I had to add the about page as a custom link instead of using WordPress’s standard drag and drop menu editor. Not sure why it makes a difference but there you have it.

I can’t see the issue to assess it now since you already resolved this, but I’m guessing that your theme or another plugin was automatically adding the content of the page in the Descriptions field for those menu items. (Bellows doesn’t do this itself, but themes/plugins do this automatically as they aren’t coded properly). You can delete the Descriptions from the menu items.

I can probably recreate the issue if you want to take a look! We’re still in the process of building the site so it can look weird for a few days without the client being too concerned.

I do think this sounds like the Description issue I mentioned, though (unless it’s something even weirder like something else filtering output in the menu – but the Descriptions issue is far more likely), so I’d try checking that first ??

oops, sorry, got distracted… it is definitely the description. I have never used that field before and had no idea it was there. Also explains why the custom link workaround “fixed” it.

And now I know a new thing about WordPress! Woot.

Yeah sometimes plugins/themes automatically set the ->post_excerpt field, and that’s how the Description gets auto-populated. Deleting it does the trick.
